Du Bois-Reymond Prize for Shigeki Watanabe

Shigeki Watanabe, a post-doctoral fellow in the Rosenmund Lab, has received the Du Bois-Reymond Prize of the German Physiological Society. He and his collaborators, including NeuroCure Visiting Fellow Erik Jorgensen and members of the Rosenmund Lab, recently discovered ultrafast synaptic vesicle endocytosis in hippocampal neurons using a novel microscopy technique, "flash-and-freeze" electron microscopy.
