Nobel laureate Südhof on basic science and chances for healing

Professor Thomas C. Südhof, winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine and Einstein BIH Visiting Fellow, is currently guest at the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Berlin Institute of Health (BIH). In his upcoming lecture, the neuroscientist will present current questions for discussion, including: How can basic science help to cure disease? During his stay in Berlin Professor Südhof will report on recent findings and opportunities they offer for application to patients. He will also address the question of why the brain continues to be such an enigma to us after so many decades.
 
The talk and discussion will begin on Wednesday, July 20 at 4 p.m. in the Langenbeck-Virchow-Haus, Luisenstraße 58/59, 10117 Berlin. The event is hosted by Prof. Dr. Christian Rosenmund, Cluster of Excellence NeuroCure, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and will take place in German.
