Professor Andrea Kühn Elected Member of the Leopoldina

Professor Andrea Kühn has been elected to the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, one of the highest honors for researchers in Germany.
Over the past years, the neurologist and neuroscientist has made important contributions to the understanding and treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and dystonia. Her work has helped advance personalized approaches to deep brain stimulation, a therapy that can improve symptoms in people with these conditions.
Andrea Kühn is Director of the Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation Section at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and spokesperson for the Collaborative Research Centre TRR 295 ReTune.
She is also a Principal Investigator in the NeuroCure Cluster of Excellence.
