Networking
Our postdoctoral fellows play an essential role in the success of NeuroCure. In turn, we are committed to contributing to the scientific and individual development of our NeuroCure postdocs.
To support scientific networking, NeuroCure provides:
The Berlin Neuroscience Network (BNN) was developed by NeuroCure and its partners, the International Graduate Program Medical Neurosciences and the Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin, as a digital portal aimed at improving interactions among current and former Berlin neuroscientists. Registered users can contact other members, including Berlin neuroscientists from all career stages and alumni working in different sectors, post requests or information that might be useful for other members, and create subgroups for specific topics.
Additionally, the portal offers:
- a Welcome Guide with resources that help newly arrived neuroscientists navigate the extensive Berlin neuroscience community and understand the German research system
- an overview of funding opportunities for all career stages, including scholarships, research project funding, travel grants, and more
- a job board and job newsletter, which can also be used to advertise open positions in your group/company
- resources supporting career development, such as our job profiles
The BNN also hosts the Career Lunch Talk series (see below).
The Career Lunch Talk series offers first-hand knowledge from professionals in a variety of fields. It is hosted approximately once a month on the Berlin Neuroscience Network. Speakers are primarily alumni from the Berlin neuroscience community who give an overview of their career paths, share insights from their professional experiences, and are available for questions in a low-threshold environment.
Future events can be found in the event calendar.
In 2023, NeuroCure and the Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin established the Student/Postdoc-Run Seminar Series to stimulate interactions within the Berlin neuroscience community on several levels. The series is organized by teams of early career neuroscientists from at least three different labs. Teams invite internationally renowned scientists to give a talk in Berlin. Following the talk, a networking event provides an opportunity to interact with the speaker and other attendees.
The Berlin Neuroscience Meeting is an annual networking event organized by NeuroCure and the Einstein Center for Neurosciences Berlin. Its aim is to bring together neuroscientists from the local community and international guests, provide a platform to present their latest research, and foster interactions and collaborations between neuroscientists of all career levels. To allow sufficient time for exchange, scientific talks and poster sessions are followed by an informal get-together with drinks and snacks.
The Berlin Neuroscience Meeting takes place in October. Please check events for details.
