Impact of cerebral ischemia on the composition of the gut microbiota
In this prospective observational proof-of-concept study, stool as well as a blood samples will be collected from stroke patients and a control group to investigate the hypothesis that cerebral ischemia induces changes in the human gut microbiome and that the gut microbiome of stroke patients differs from that of the non-stroke population.
