Science to Take Part In: Meet the Scientist - Knowledge Between Books

During Berlin Science Week, the “Knowledge Between Books” project brings research into Berlin’s public libraries. Researchers offer insights into current scientific topics and invite visitors to discover new things, ask questions and engage in conversation.

Meet the Scientist: Brain Pacemakers – How Brain Activity Can Help Improve Treatment for Parkinson’s and Other Movement Disorders

How can electrodes implanted in the brain help alleviate movement disorders in Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions? At “Meet the Scientist,” Lucia Feldmann and Jonathan Kaplan from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin offer insights into deep brain stimulation. They explain how brain activity can be measured and used to tailor treatments more precisely to individual patients, and how this approach could help improve the treatment of movement disorders in the future.

The event is part of “Knowledge Between Books,” a project by the agency con gressa in cooperation with Berlin Science Week and the Berlin Public Library Network.
