Value and Open Science (VOS) Module

Mission:

Promoting open science practices and transparent workflows enriches scientific research, making it more accessible, trustworthy, and reproducible. As a neuroscientist, I understand the challenges of implementing reproducible workflows alongside critical research tasks. Through my services to the NeuroCure community and beyond, I support scientists in making their outputs more open and transparent, and therefore reusable. As a member of Charité's CoARA working group, I also advocate for reforming research assessments and represent the cluster's interests in the Berlin University Alliance's "Open Science and Research Quality" working group.

VOS-resources

Services for NeuroCure Community
  • Manuscript Screening: In collaboration with SciScore, I screen manuscripts or preprints with a 24-hour turnaround with specific suggestions to maximize transparent reporting of methods and results.

  • Green Open Access (OA): I assist in making making your closed publications available through green OA, typically 12 months after publication, and deposit your open manuscript on our NeuroCure Zenodo community page.

  • VOS Visits: These friendly consultations (onsite or online) reflect on a NeuroCure group's current open science, rigor and transparency practices and offering tailored recommendations where appropriate.
